Mrs. Davel
Welcome to Myakka River Elementary School!
I am absolutely thrilled to be your principal at Myakka River Elementary. I have taught elementary for 16 years (kindergarten, first, second, and fourth grades) and 1 year in middle school (6th grade ELA). I was the Assistant Principal at L.A. Ainger Middle school for 4 years. My educational philosophy is simple: schools thrive when they are student-centered, students love to attend and take pride in their school, when families and the community are treated as true partners, and when staff genuinely love where they work. I deeply believe that a strong bridge between home and school is the foundation of student success. As principal, I am fully committed to working alongside you to ensure our students have the resources, support, and encouragement they need to flourish.
I grew up in Englewood and attended Vineland, L.A. Ainger, and Lemon Bay High School. I received a volleyball scholarship to South Florida Community College. After finishing her Associate's Degree, I received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education K-6 from the University of North Florida. Additionally, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. I am also reading and ESOL endorsed. I am a mother to three wonderful children and have been married for several years to her amazing husband, Tom. I love to read on a daily basis and spend time with my family. I am an active member in our community, including taking part in the Englewood Sunset Rotary Impact Club.
I am truly looking forward to a year of celebrations, success, and collaboration!
Personal Mission Statement: One Family. High Standards. Student Success for All!
